Garden Connect Plot: Off to a Slow Start

This year I’m participating in the Garden Connect group again. The idea is that everyone puts in one garden plot following the same plan, and then we can compare notes.

Here’s the plan for this year:

Unfortunately, I chose a poor spot for my plot this year. It’s in a poorly drained corner of my garden, and this has been an unusually wet year. The result is that this plot has been full of water for about the past six weeks.

The only plants I have in so far I planted as starts, not seeds, and while those are all still alive, they’re not thriving.

Here’s one photo of my sad eggplant to give you the general idea. The pepper and celery are holding up OK. I don’t want to talk about the tomato plant.
