The mustard plants in my garden are doing really well, but they’re crawling with these little orange and black bugs. I wasn’t sure what they were, so I looked them up. And what fun! Apparently these are harlequin bugs– a type of stink bug, and another destroyer of leaves. They suck the fluids from plant tissues, eventually causing leaves to wither and die. Ugh. This may be why my collard greens are turning yellow and brown (see bottom photo) because apparently collard greens are one of this bug’s favorite foods. Well, we have that in common I guess.
