Cucumbers: Same Deal With the Flowers

The cucumbers are also starting to do their thing in the garden. Apparently, the flowers are like squash: Some are male and some are female, and if they don’t appear to be pollinating, you can use a paintbrush to hand pollinate. Also: Apparently, cucumbers form a lot of male flowers first, before the females appear. Here are a couple of interesting links with more info.

(By the way, if you read the blog post about squash flowers by email yesterday, there were a few problems with links. Those have now been fixed on the website. Thanks!)
