This chard plant was an impulse buy at the greenhouse, and now I’m kicking myself for only buying one. I may need to go back and see if they have any more seedlings. (I tried starting it from seed one year, but no luck. Maybe another year.)

I really like the way chard tastes — it’s one of those greens that you eat like spinach. It grows well through the summer, but as the leaves get larger you want to start cooking it, or they’re too tough. More about growing and cooking with chard here:
